Uttara Phalguni, the later one, and the promise

Aryaman is the deity named for the later Phalguni. Contracts, patronage, and the part of marriage that is a bond rather than a party sit here.

Where the earlier Phalguni is the afternoon of a celebration, the later one is the morning after, when someone has to mean it. Aryaman, in the older hymns a god of custom and partnership, is the name the tables use. Families planning the muhurtham of the vows, as distinct from the reception, often prefer this of the pair.

It is also a star people mention for agreements: a retainer, a teacher's acceptance of a student, the day a patron's name goes on a plaque. None of that is in the ephemeris. The ephemeris has a longitude. The association is traditional, and it should be labelled as traditional.

Pocket Pandit labels it. The number underneath remains the Moon's.
